sooooo....

got my check in the mail today for the car payoff after the loan balance was paid.

I had called them earlier today because i thought they had quoted my car too low (their online form had taken off money for options that mine didn't have.... which is odd because my car had EVERY option possible) they also had it listed as an automatic, which is also funny because mine was 5-speed.

soooo.... got the check. And pictures of "my" car.

funny thing is....

it isn't my car!!!!!!!!!!!

hmmmmmm looks grey to me. Also doesn't have my hood paint.... and HOLY CRAP you can still see the back end. WTF?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!

i just called them and FREAKED out for like 1/2 hour. Lawyer is being called.

For those of you who missed it... this is my car...

cool huh. i'm going to kill someone now.

Are you suing?
I'm not one of those people who are for suing for any old thing....

But...

That truck is so high.... I bet it's not legal.

i don't think it is legal. Idaho state law states bumper height on 4wd vehicles must be like 54" or lower from the bottom of the bumper

Absolutely!! Neat commercials are the high point of Geico. As far as service-in my end of the business I have never seen an insurance company that gives it's repair shops such a difficult way to go. :notnice: :notnice:

Squash that Gecko!!

BTW-just see what they do if they find out you have a radar/laser detector!!

Yes - they make all these claims - I laughed out loud when I did the estimate for my insurance and with them, it was over $300 MORE than with Progressive who I am with now....

Geico is the poo poo......

Good thing that accident happened in front of Les Scwabs so you could get the alignment fixed. J/K Glad that you walked away from that!

Let us know what happens with your insurance company, Emilee. stinks that they are giving you a hard time. Sink the lawyer on 'em and get what you deserve from Geico and the guy that rammed you. Insurance companies LOVE small claims (so they can jack up your rates) but they HATE large claims like yours because they can't make that money back. They'll fight you.

The only experience I had with Geico was a quote... and that was more than enough me to stay away, lol. They wanted over $8k for a BARE BONES insurance policy for my '05 Mustang GT. I'm 21 and I have a perfect driving record. I eventually went with Mercury Insurance for around $3600 a year. I have a $750 deductable and 100/300 on my personal liability/home.

Their commercial says 15 minutes could save you 15 percent...................The opperative word is "could". I gave them my 15 minutes and they quoted 22% above what I am paying now with State Farm. I guess they have to get the money to train lizards to do the robot and sing Kung Foo Fighting from somewhere.

You CAN get inexpensive GOOD insurance. Progressive usually crushes Geico's prices, and they have outstanding customer service.

Not like I have stock in Geico or anything, but they beat Progressive for me by over $200 a year. I also had a pretty big claim back a few years on my Acura (it got keyed on every body panel and somebody used the hood as a trampoline), I got an entirely new paint job, plus new hood. About a $9000 job. So, I've tried Progressive and others, and none can beat Geico's price.

i had progressive untill about a year ago actually. Looks like i'll be looking for a new insurance company when this b.s is all over.

Yes, we do have a lawyer, no one is getting away with ANYTHING in this case as far as i'm concerned, the guy who owned the truck (farmers insurance) had it raised probably too high (i am going out with friends this weekend in the middle of the night and we're going to find it and measure the bumper) The guy DRIVING the truck had a suspended license, but come to find out that he actually also holds an insurance policy with Allstate. hmmmm... funny how they insure someone with a suspended license...

As for geico, they are messing with the wrong girl. They messed up big time and didn't even estimate the RIGHT CAR, major ooops on their part. They look like inexperienced pieces of *&(@*# to me. I mean, how hard is it to find the bright yellow mustang in a lot full of wrecked cars? nope, he finds like the only other wrecked one in the entire continent i bet.

my car also had modifications on it that they WERE aware of. So they can't slime out on not paying for those too.

yeah, actually we switched to geico because the rates on our policy were about $800 a year cheaper.

By looking at that picture, it looks like the ride height is legal, it doesn't look like the bottom of the bumper is more than 4 and half feet off the ground, thats pretty high.

Edit: Actually, I know its legal, the height of the Mustang is 54", and its well below the roofline.
