FRPP GTA muffler Video - Before/After
Well everyone, I finally got the video done and uploaded. Pretty good representation of what the Supreme Performane "FRPP GTAs" sound like with stock H-pipe compared to stock mufflers. So far I am pretty happy with them - good old muscle car sound, not too loud.
Enjoy!

Sounds good, Richard!
Excellent video Richard,
Are you happy with yours? They definatly 'season' after a bit, get a bit more of a growl to them,I can even hear mine @ cruise now.Let my brother drive mine yesterday,he's considering a GT and/or a Cadillac CTS.
He loved the sound, said he's going to the Ford dealer Monday. LOL I think he was impressed.I'll havta ask Ford if I'll get the commision on that sale.

aircare84,
I don't know that I'll ever find "the perfect" exhaust, but I'm going to run with these for a while. They really do have a nice growl, old muscle car Idle, and I too can hear them a little at cruise now, and they are not obnoxious. They seem to have opened up a little more at WOT now too. I think if startup were louder when the engine was cold, my neighbors might compain, so I'm pretty happy.
stnagfx,
Picked them up over at Ninosports over the internet. They have a promotion code you can put in if your a member of this forum - I think it is MTS.com which will get you a 5% discount. Normal price, last I checked was $279 free shipping.

I just watched your video and have to say, the GTAs sound very nice. I compared it to some of the 5GT/Stinger videos and have to say the GTAs sound a lot nicer in terms of quality. The GTAs are a mix of a stock exhaust note with a "muscle car" exhaust. This is all subjective due to audio losses from the microphone and from the a/v compression, but what about those that have owned/heard both the 5GTs and GTAs?
The one thing I don't like about the GTAs is the use of T-409 stainless steel instead of T-304. Surely that cuts down on the price, but if given a choice between OEM style T-409 or T-304 in the rust belt, I'd go with T-304.

Nino,
Don't mind sending copy at all. Problem is, the whole video is about 31 Meg, since the only video editing program I had was the Windows Video Maker that came with my PC. I'm looking into purchasing a good editing program, but haven't had time yet. Point is, it may not do well over standard email, since many of the servers limit attachments to 10 Meg. Let me know what your email address is and I can try. Another way is for me to send you a copy of it on CD.

The 409 stainless doesn't bother me that much down here in Texas. They are relatively cheap, very good fit, appear very "original equipment-ish" with better tips, and if they rust through (I doubt), I'll try something else for fun - maybe the Flowmasters.
http://www.yousendit.com/ will take care of that problem and the free account is up to 100MB IIRC
I had the 5GT/Stingers originally. They are much louder and deeper throughout. You could feel the vibration in the car. They were really aggressive with a wonderful sound, but a little too loud around town for my taste and they had a moderate drone that annoyed me between 1300 and 2000 RPM, with peak that really reverberated at about 1800 RPM. The chrome FRPP imbossed tips were really cool though. Many clips of these available

What material is used for the stock mufflers? Are they stainless and if so are they 409 or 304?
I think the stock mufflers are T-409 stainless steel. If you look carefully, you'll notice that they aren't the typical "garbage can" OEM Ford mufflers.
It's either because Ford used a different supplier, or because of a different internal construction.

I just installed my GTA's this morning. The tone is deeper than stock, but not loud at all. They really are a bit quieter than I was hoping for, but after reading some other posts, it sounds like they might get a little louder with age, at least I'm hoping so. I also have a FRPP X pipe to install (the one that replaces the H section , but keeps the cats intact) I don't know what effect this will have on the sound quality.
