Front speakers
Front speakers
Ok guys so I think my car came with the shaker 500 system but I'm not 100%. My door speakers stopped working recently and I'm not sure why. The shop that installed these door speakers recently went under and so I have no frame of reference. I'm thinking something happened to the wiring so I pull off the door panel and this is what I see is connected to my crossover. I've switched the crossover, the speakers and it's still not working. I ordered the wiring harness from Crutchfield but it doesn't fit. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So now that I'm at my computer and can see your pics, I take it the red and black wires spliced into your factory wiring harness go to your crossover?
What do you mean you switched the speakers and crossovers? Just side to side? or front to back? Are both of your door speakers (R & L) not working?
If its both, I'd probably blame bad splices. But you can try touching the wires directly to the speaker terminals, bypassing the crossover's altogether to see if the crossovers are the problem. You can also do the same with the rear speakers (which you know work)
Since you don't know whether your car was a shaker 500 or not it must have an aftermarket stereo. Which one? An aftermarket deck means that not only did they splice the aftermarket leads into the wiring harness at in the doors, but would also have to make the deck hook into the factory harness. Whether they did that with an adapter they made or directly splicing, its another area I would check the wiring down by the deck as well.
Got an ohmmeter? (or multi-meter) Do a continuity test all the way from the plug that goes into the radio up to your wiring in the doors. There should be little to no resistance. As far as knowing which pins to probe by the radio side, you can get a pin-out diagram from the radio manufacturer's website (go to the link for Support and get the user manual/installation instructions) or at least a listing of which color wires go where.
