Exclamation Ford Racing X-Pipe Problem.

Well I just installed the new X-pipe. The only thing was, where the the tail pipes attach to the tail end of the X-pipe the stock clamps would not tighten on the X-pipe. I call this morning to Ford Racing tech line and found out that some of their pipes didn't get flared. I was the 3rd person to call in the last two days. They are in the process of checking their warehouse to see how many more there are. Now I wait for them to call me back to see what they are going to do.

Sorry to hear about that, I didn't have any problems with mine. Hopefully they will get you a new one shipped out soon.

I'll had better check mine when i get home, i haven't put it on yet. It's the narrow end of the X your saying should be flared, right?

Yes, at the narrow end where the tail pipes connect. the outside diameter isn't the same as the tail pipes so the stock clamps will not tighten on the X-pipe. FR say they will send me one once they check there stock and find one that is good.

But I'm not the only one to buy one. If there part isn't correct and you pay $140 bucks for it, it should be correct.

I had the same problem. My dealer/installer saw the problem and made a spacer for the clamps and put that on and then the clamp. I haven't had a problem since, but it stinks that it needed to have a spacer in the first place.

Nice to know they're going to make it right for you. Also, it's good that you made them aware of it. That will save future customers from the same problem.

I got my new (exchanged) X-Pipe yesterday. Now i have to find the time to install it. I am thinking about welding it and not using the clamps, Thoughts anyone?

Go figuire, I have the flared on one end model.

How about a GOOD phone number to call them. The one on thje website no longer works, same as the number on the instructions.
