Thank You Jesus!

Jesus:

"Hey, whaddya know? I die on the cross for their sins and rise again on the third day... eh, they think I'm alright... But, vinyl stripes on a Mustang? I'm suddenly their Lord and Savior!"

"You are all welcome! Now leave me alone until Sunday (when it's my day off!)"

.... they're just plain cheesy when compared to full stripes which is what should dealers should have as the mandatory style.
Atleast the Ford stripes look like they have the proper spacing between them. Those large gap tooth stripes just don't look right:

Jay, you are right! I forgot to thank you for sending me a picture of your minty fresh smile -- it was perfect in determining the size of my stripes. Thanks again, Jay!!

If dealer-installed, I would highly doubt that they would be painted.

And if they are vinyl, chances are it would be much cheaper to go aftermarket and install them yourself.

Not that I am getting down on this thread, and I think it is sweet, and thanks for the info Brad.
I have done custom paintwork and restored cars, I would still hire someone to put vinyl stripes on for me. They have the measuring and installation tools and warranty their work. If you mess it up, you just cost yourself more then having them installed anyway. [/b][/quote]
I use to be in the sign business for years. Personally, go to a sign shop and have them cut you the vinyl the size you want. Then buy an applicator from them and try it yourself. The hardest parts are the bumpers. As far a special equipment...how does a 36" ruler and a spray bottle filled with hot water and 10 drops of dishwasher soap. Nothing too expensive there. Besides even if you do screw up you can try and try again. The amount of money you will pay a shop to stripe you car will not be cheap. If it is, most likely they will not do a good job. For what sign shops charge around here I could stripe my car 5 times and break even.
