As many of you know, i'll be placing my order in May, but im just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on whether Ford will be somewhat caught up by then, thus reducing the time i'll have to wait for mine to be built and delivered.

I hoped that if i ordered in the beginning of May, i'd have the car by my birthday at the end of June.....Is that realistic considering that it is still 2 1/2 months away?

Thanks

I'm not really sure.....

Maybe you should just put in an order for a 06. I heard that the order books open in May for the 06's?

ford is starting to catch up on orders now. the peolpe who were left to dry in november r finally seeing build dates and cars. it gives people like me who ordered not toooo long ago to have some hope. if i were u i would do what i did and order a monthe earlier. it would be better if u order in the 2nd week of april.

If I don't have my car by May, I'll be cancelling and ordering an '06.

I'm going to take a guess and say no. Seems like people are averaging around 3 months to take delivery. Some more.. Some Less. Seems to me you will get another surge of people with spring fever ordering around that time. I have yet to see one mustang on the road in my area and I have only seen about 4 production models driving here in the state. Granted I haven't been driving around looking for them But you can guarantee there will be a ton of them driving around come august. Maybe I'm wrong but if it were me I would order it no later than the first of April. A lot of people aren't thinking new mustang around here right now their thinking snowblower. Just a guess...

If people will be able to start ordering '06 Mustangs as early as May, then I would think there will be buyers who will decide to hold off and order then. If that were the situation, wouldn't that mean that there might be relatively low numbers of '05's built in comparison to what will be built in '06 and beyond?

That's ok if you want to take delivery late summer or early fall But a lot of people want their mustang for this summer. If they do they should order soon. Just ask all the people who don't have their build date and they ordered 2 months ago.

I think it will get worse not better. We still have plenty of snow on the ground here and most people haven't even considered a Mustang yet. I think come April when the weather starts to break in the North people are going to run to the dealerships to get their summer ride and be shocked that they aren't available. I ran in to a friend of mine who told me he was going to come see me in June to get a vert. I told him he may already be too late for June at my store. Most non enthusiats don't realize that they can't just drive in come spring and leave with one. I think the orders will flood into the system 30-45 days from now.

I would order now, better early than never.

I wouldn't wait, if you want an '05. I ordered last year and I may not get my GT. Now it's too late to order from another dealer in my region.

I agree with most here. If you want it by June, you should order in April. If you're going to wait until May...you might as well wait a month and order an '06 model.

My $0.02.

Darn the federal government!!!! :bang:

I can't order until I get this years tax return and my ammended tax return for last year (forgot to get the hope credit). I sent them then end of Janurary so hopefully I have them back by the end of March or early April.

I'm on the "where's my return" site on IRS.gov every freaking day.

Ordered first of the year, still not scheduled. Seriously, if you want the car by June ORDER NOW! You dont have to pay for it when you order so believe me order now.

I waited until last Nov to order because I didn't want it until after the first of the year, but I just wanted to make sure I had it by Easter. Now it looks like that might not even happen. Moral of the story... order now.
