Every dealer I've inquired to hasn't said there would a problem using the D-Plan. Most of them are pretty shaky about talking about it before you can order it, but none of them had any problems with using the D-Plan.

So since pricing probably won't be out on the 24th, if I order a car and its understood I am using D-Plan, they can't refuse it day of if they agree on it on the 24th, right?

Dan:

The plans work the same here as in the US.
At a certain dealership i know it was explained like this.
"Don't worry, we'll get you xplan. How we do it is, anyone who gets Aplan around here, has around 4 XPlan pins to give away a year. Most don't. So we toss them 50 bucks or something nice for a pin, so everyone is happy"
Not word for word...but thats how a lot of dealerships do it.

If not, you can just say
"I want Xplan pricing."
or
"I can get xplan at another dealership, but I want to give you my buisiness as your in my area or heard good things about you guys. or I like the way you smell...or some bs....can you match it?"

This way theres no squabling around. Most will say ok..(just talking their language of the plans, knows you did some homework, and you'll walk away, just don't give them the edge, by saying you'd sell your soul for the car )

Kev: no worries..its all good.

D plan means you work AT the dealer, HOPEFULLY your boss will give you the plan

A/Z/D plans are not often refused out of respect for people that make a living by working for Ford.

X plan is hit or miss.

Most dealers do not understand how SLOW a process it will be to build inventory on their lots.........yet. Mustangs are not going to be suddenly available everywhere just out of the blue. We are still struggling stocking F-series, and 4 plants build them. We only have about 6 05 escapes at any given time, the average lot life is 6 days per unit.

Kev are you thinking that the stang is going to be scarce and dealers won't want to use any of the discount plans on it?

Also, derynf: I'm sure most of the people who will be pre-ordering the first day know a considerable amount about the 05 Mustang.
Most dealers, not most message board members.

Even the Inventory managers tend to keep the average salespeople a little underinformed about the vehicle until something can be done about getting one. It is not 05 yet, dealers still have bills to pay in 04 I dont care how cool something in the works is, it is not good business practice to sell products that dont exist. No one would ever sell a single computer if they did nothing but hype products 6 months away.

Yes, I work at a truck dealership that services rigs. We are BO Certified, therefore we get D-Plan. We don't sell cars, so I have to go elsewhere/

You should be a "good friend" of the dealer. Buy it through the commercial sales manager at the dealer. B) If you dont interract with them yourself, I am sure one of the managers at your place does, have him make the call. It sounds to me like an opperation that a local dealer probably owes a lot of favors to

Yeah I know that they've done it before for Explorers and the like, I just kind of assumed that they would for the stang as well since it is, after all, a mass produced car. We'll see how it goes when it comes time to order. If not them I'm sure I'll find someone who will.
