I was wondering if you make a payment of 100 dollars over your payment will your next payment me a 100 dollars less? My last loan with nissan did that and i liked it. If i payed more it wouldn't go towards the principal if i didn't want it to.

example my payment was 400 a month, if i made a 800 dollar payment, i'm a month ahead of time and could skip a month if i wanted to.

this make sense at all? Does ford credit do that?

I asked Ford Motor Credit if I paid them and extra 1,000 to 2,000 to get my monthly payment lower. They told me they would only adjust the monthly amount if the payment was a "substantial amount" towards the payoff.

Long and short- if you pay extra, the length of your loan is shortened, but the monthly payments should be the same.
