If you are talking about the factory Alarm Upgrade that you can order with our cars then there are alot of parts needed to upgrade like the maplight housing and the interior sensors, also all the wiring for them. i would suggest you get an alarm from a audio shop you know and trust and get an upgraded alarm. me personally am going with a Clifford G5 kit with auto start as soon as i get some more cash

I looked into this. Essentially, the ford system is nothing but an overcomplicated code alarm unit made to work with the factory farbs. And it is not plug and play by any means either. They need to tie it in like any other alarm would be.
And the system is not the active anti-theft as sold by ford from the factory.
Unless they changes something in the past 6 momnths.

Hutch,
I had my dealer install the Ford Accessories alarm. Yes, it does not have the interior motion sensor like the factory-installed alarm. But integration with the factory key fobs was important to me. The key and fob are lumpy enough in my pocket w/o adding another fob. Installation involved them splicing and soldering a lot of wires, my soldering skills are not finely honed, so I paid the dealer to do it (they have one person that handles all their alarm installs). There's no trunk lid switch, but the sensitivity of the shock sensor setting (it's adjustable) on mine certainly prevents anyone from jimmying the trunk or hood.

I am pretty sure you can get an aftermarket system that will replace the factory farbs and trigger the door locks, etc. They make harness's of some sort.
Try crutchfield.
I have their crime guard system in one of my other cars and it is very nice.
