I do not like the fogs - the concept model looks great without the fogs - they look like an after-thought. They took a clean line and junked it up with an unecessary and exagerated element.

I had to register and post a response here because I had the same thought about the 'Concept vs. the 'Production' fog lamps.
First off I want to be clear that I really like the new production Mustang and would buy one as is. But, what drew me here was my first glimpse of the 'Concept' and what was so appealing about that to me was the front end. The headlamp pockets that seperated the headlamps from the grille angled forward and combined with the overhanging hood, gave the car an aggressive/sharklike, late 60's look. The pocket not only angled forward but tilted in at the top giving the grille more character than the 'Production' model in my opinion.
At first I thought I liked the 'Concept' front end better than the 'Production' because of no fogs but now I realize it really has to do with the headlamp pockets.
I have searched the archives and saw a post that said that the 'Production' model was actually designed before the 'Concept' and that the 'Concept' is the direction where the Mustang design may be headed. Maybe wishful thinking but I am hoping this is the case. If not I still plan on owning a Mustang within a year and a half and with the current grille/headlamp arrangement I would lean toward getting fogs.
On a seperate topic: in case anyone from Ford sees this, I would also like to see an IRS option eventually on a SE(not just on a Cobra).
Even if I don't get exactly what I want I commend Ford and whoever there is responsible for bringing the Mustang back. I wanted this car when I was 10 in 1969 and soon I'll have it along with 36 years of improvements.

My thoughts exactly latitutde on the concept and production version. Although, I always knew that it was the concepts headlamp pockets that was so appealing to me, not the lack of foglights. I'm hoping that a SE or Cobra variant will come with a different bumper as to incorporate smaller fogs somewhere else, or just give it a totally different look than the squarish front-end with four circles inside.

I agree Some of the aggressivenes of the front fascia was lost when the production 05 is compared to the concept. BUT the concept does indeed have "fog" or "driving" lights sculpted in the bottom of the signal/parking lights.
Another note, IMHO the fascia was changed to allow for the Large Fog lights and to keep with the theme of easy aftermarket change ie grille, fog, billet, etc... B)
