has anyone figured out how to do this yet? on my yukon, which has a 4 headlight system (2hi 2 low) i was able to use a jumper relay box thing to get the lows to stay on with the high beams. is there a way to do this with the mustang? i would really like my fogs to stay on with the highbeams, since when im high beaming i want as much light as possible.

I asked the dealer the same question,
they said " the Fog lights and the high beams are not designed to be on at the same time, if its foggy you don't want the high beams on."
My thought is " but I want more light"
their reply " sorry"

most people only use the highbeams when there isnt any oncomming traffic so that wouldnt be an issue. that is, if you have any common sense and courtesy lol

You may fry stuff and if they figure you messed with it Kiss your Warrenty By By ! may draw too much power.

well i got 33k miles, so the warranty is almost gone. i have saleen hids, so they do not draw any more power with the high beam on than with the low beam on, all that happens is the reflector moves.

Hi beams on in the fog is a counterproductive move.... low beam and fogs give a better view of the road. Thats why its built that way.

I have done this mod twice on an 01 and an 04 Sport Trac. It is nice to have both lights on a the same time for more light, I don't care what people say.

All I had to do was break a tab off on a relay in the engine compartment. The relay controls the circut for the fog lamps. When the high beams are on, the relay clicks and shuts the power off to that circut.

There is no problem with the extra power draw as the circuts for both the high beams and the fogs are sepparate and have their own relays. It is an easy mod, one that I am sure is very similar in the Mustang, I just have not really had time to really look into it. I have been waiting for someone else to give it a try and do all the leg work.

As for breaking the tab on the relay, I am sure some one is going to say "why would you want to break your car to do this", well if you want to make it normal again, just go and spend 5 or 10 bucks and get another relay.

I have a V6 and put the GT front bumper on. I have the exact opposite problem. My fogs do stay on with the high beams. Nobody seems to have the answer. But after a recent drive on back country roads in the dark. I'm doing to leave it. You can't drive back country roads with just low beams. And the fogs light up the edge of the road, and deer's eyes nicely.

Now if I could just figure out how to get the fogs to come on with just the parking lights, and to turn off when the battery saver kicks in.

I can turn on the "fog" lamps w/o turning the headlamps on, which is illegal in most states. I'm not sure how or what Ford did to allow this on their factory cars.

If you notice closely, the "fog" lamps are aimed MUCH higher than the headlamps. I don't care what Ford says, fog lamps are not designed to be so large and mounted so high up. These are auxiliary driving lamps. Fog lamps are typically smaller and mounted much lower to reduce backdazzle and glare. Driving lamps are used to light up more of the road.

My fogs are aimed down, much closer to the car than my lowbeams.

Though I agree true fogs need to be mounted low as well.
