It's not illegal to have your fog lamps on at night, I typically have mine on whenever I have my headlights on, during dusk and dawn, and when it is raining.

Shuoldn't be...the fog lights I would imagine were designed with the form over function in mind, meaning they were designed more for looks than for functionality. I'm sure it will be fine for the other drivers...

no, fog lamps are aimed lower than your low beams, they don't shine up in peoples eyes like high beams.

Haven't had an oncoming driver flash @ me with them on...
Still get drivers flashing me w/ just my lowbeams on my Jeep Wrangler -I put the blame between the factory chrome bezels and factory ride height....

I think the idea behind them wasn't actually for fog.... on the Shelby's they were racing lights... bright as he11 for night time auto cross. If they were supposed to be for fog, I'm sure they'd be lower to the ground so they can be under the fog, and have more of a fan pattern (so... not big round lights). But, I'm only speculating.... my .02

I like :drive: around town with just the fogs on. How kool is that these days?

You get on a dark road they have a huge fan, although not bright at edges but its there.

I drove with my fogs on for about a week. I liked the look. But I had several people flash there brights at me. Since I got tired of it, I just use the regular lights.

I guess since it is hilly around here, when someone is down the hill from me, it is brighter to them than if they were straight on.

If I ever get flashed and I don't have my brights on, I always flash them right back.

I did too, but it became too often for me.

that's smart...deliberately try and blind them...what good can come of it? So what they flashed you. They did so cause they thought your brights were on. So now you have to go and get even by flashing them back? why? what good can come from it?

So that they know my brights aren't on. And they just flashed me and deliberately tried to blind me. And if they knew anything, they would know you can't have fogs on with your brights anyway.

And so they don't flash me next time thinking I still have my brights on.

i drive my car in the day and night with the headlights on.(so i get my blue gauges)

We all have DRLs in canada so people dont notice the difference between the DRLs and the headlights. I usually turn my fogs on too just for the look, its become a habit to pull the switch out. The only thing i get is thumbs up, but thats because of the rest of the car i think.
