My floormat hook seems to be coming loose after only a week. It is only attached to the carpet and seems to be ripping right through the carpet. Seems like a poor design. Anyone else having that problem? I'm taking it back to the dealership but I was just curious, seems like it would be doing this to everyone.

Just noticed within the past week that my retainer hook to trying to pull out of the carpet. :notnice:
Seems to be attached pretty loosely.

I've had my GT for 4 months now and it's been fine up till now. I'll look at it closer and see if I can figure out what's going on. Wonder if it has anything to do with the near hundred degree temperatures we've had for the past few days.

hmmm, guess I'd better take a look at mine. I've had my car for 6 months now but have not noticed any issues with it.

Mine is fine with my 05 so far but my 98 did the same thing so I took a sheet metel screw and a drill and screwed it to the floor and it never moved again.

I hope you sealed the screw so you don't get any water from underneath?

I wonder why Ford didn't do this in the first place.

We can't expect these cars to be 100% perfect......................can we?

No problems here.

I did notice that it's kind of a cheeeeeeezy design.

I ordered the pony mats from ford and there about 3 inches short for the front ones so they are not even on the hook and it works out fine .

Mind you like I said in a few other posts the carpet is cheap ...mines scotchbrite black and I'm sure if you held it up to the light you could see through it .

I took my front floor mat out for the first time today and noticed a square gap in front of the hook. It took me by surprise, but it didn't appear to be tearing away from the carpet.

Still, if it does tear away, I would think the warranty would cover it. I hope, anyway!

I don't have a hook... was never installed. Dealer is supposed to be getting me one, though.
