Flat Tire!
#1
It's been snowing up here in NY so I haven't taken the stang out since Sunday. It's been sitting in the garage for 2 days and I discovered the drivers side rear wheel was flat. AAA came and put on the spare, gonna go get the flat fixed later today. The guy didn't see anything and he couldn't figure out why the tire was flat. Any ideas?

You say you're going to get the flat fixed, but don't know why it's flat? Wait, what?
Also you are asking us to figure out why a tire we haven't seen nor driven on went flat on you. Hold on while I ask the Gods.

The car was in your garage and you had to call AAA to put the spare on? You could of done it yourself in 5 minutes.

Void what warranty? I have never had any warranties voided by putting a spare tire on the car.

This is what to do,
Fill tire with air, if you hear air leaking, find leak.
If can not hear leak, run water over entire tire and check for bubbles,
check valve stem too! You will find the leak.
In the 60's guys use to up rocks in the valve stems.
Had that done on my 57 chevy! Yeah I was a chevy kid back then, only car
I new how to fix then! Have broaden my horizon since.
Happy Trails!! B)

Bad valve stem? Poorly seated tire on rim? No evidence of foreign object damage? A mystery, Watson!
Hey, he had AAA do it because he wanted to get his money's worth from their roadside assistance plan. Can't say I blame him! Of course, I probably would have fixed it myself, just for practice. A lot of people don't know how to even assemble the scissor jack that comes with their car! It's best to know how to change a flat or a spare set of tires while it's in the controlled environment of a garage. It's safer too!

Especially considering you may end up needing road side assistance but are stuck somewhere and don't have a cell phone signal. It's always nice to know how to do the simple things just in case you ever need it.

Only flat tires I ever had were on my 72 Mercury Montego (2 door, 351w which I blew up and replaced with a 351c). Was a teenager and had no money for tires, so they'd get so worn the belt would show through, and finally blow out. changed lots of tires with that car. Speaking of belts showing through, ever see a car spin the tires with the belts showing? Spark city! I'm surprised I survived past 19....
Watch out for those valve stem tampering monkeys.

I actually saw a video a few years back of a guy "using up" the rest of the tires before putting on new ones. He wore them down until they started sparking.
