Flashing engine light
Last night I was driving on the NJ Turnpike and all of a sudden the engine light started to blink. I pulled over at a rest area and started to try to listen rev the engine shut it off turn it back on just stupid stuff. it seemed to me like it was maybe a bit off on the sound, the exhaust seemed like it was giving off more of a clap then normal.
Well then I pulled out the owners manual and found out that the flashing means that its having multiple missfires or I forget the exact wording. now I am not driving it today but I will be leaving work early to take it to a dealership(I bought from ISELLFORD so I am just taking it to a dealership near by) I hope that does not add any problems.
But before I go I wanted to find out if anyone has experianced or hear of anything like this. On a GT with less the 700 miles on it i was certainly not expectin to see the service engine light.

I've heard that gasoline "blends" typically allowed in the winter have been approved for use now due to the loss in refinery output in LA and TX. I wonder if these blends are causing your engine to misfire? I noticed my engine wasn't running as well when it was cold, but I didn't see the Check Engine light flash.
Thanks for posting this. I'll be watching mine more closely!

Well i talked to the mechanic and he said that it was a "busted" fuel injector. since he wasnt the one working on it he didnt have details but he said I should have the part late today and with any luck have my baby back tonight. Without any luck I will have it tomorrow. I will try to find out exactly what was wrong with the fuel injector but I hope thats the end of this problem.
All is good in the world... I picked up my baby about an hour ago and she is purring like a kitten again....uhm pony... do ponies pur? anyways it seems that the new Fuel injector was all that was needed and the old one was just not firing correctly and they didnt bother to figure it out since ford just sent a new one.
