I like it.
You should look into getting an adapter to hold the boot up, but not right against the ****.
Bruce Roosa at koolknobs has one for 25 bucks I think.

Also have a flameball ****. I took two nuts with the right thread size and put a washer between them - then put the **** on. The top of the boot fit over the washer and holds it up. Have had it like 2 1/2 years and works fine.

Thats what I did just a 1/2 inch washer on top of a nut to hold up the boot. I had to pull the boot all the way to the top because it hides the led wire thats ties to the parking light makes for a clean look. thanks everyone.

Looks good. The flames look different in the second picture. Is that just different lighting between the two pictures?

Has anyone tried one of the flameballs for an auto shifter? Any way they would work with an auto or way too much altering to be done?

Will it work on the Hurst shifter and if so where does the wire go?

When you place the order with flame ball and tell them what type of shifter you have I'm sure they can get the proper threading for it. But I'm sure its the same as the stock shifter threads. The problem with putting it on a hurst shifter would be the boot sits so low on the shifter and the wire would show. You would probably have to cut a channel down the side of the shifter that faces the radio and then tuck in the wire.

I used tacobills first couple of steps in the mgw shifter install to take apart the center plastic pieces and shift boot. ran the wire under the radio, zip tie it to the set of wires that run to the headlight switch. Then used the 2 quick connect splicers that were included with the led wire. I connected it to the parking light since that seemed to be the only one that had no amps when the key was on. the hot was the camel/tan wire and the ground was the back wire. here is the pic of quick splicer
