Question Fixing Billet Pieces

I just got the Shelby Master Cylinder cap for my 07, and when I opened the package there were some major defects in the billet on the sides of it.

Can I get these small scrathes out with a very light wet sand, or will that make it worse. I would return them, but I needed them for a show this weekend. I have all the other caps on, and not having this one, would look awful.

Pics to see extent of the damage/defect?

Just keep in mind that if you send it back now, they will replace it. If you tinker with it (trying to fix the problem), you most likely will not be allowed to return it later.

Return it Sean . Like adrenalin said ,they probably won't give you a new one if you mess with it. Use it for Mustang Alley and then send it back.
