Fitch Fuel Catalyst

Fitch Fuel Catalyst
Anyone heard of this? http://www.fitchfuelcatalyst.com/index.cfm They claim that if you install it in your fuel line that you will gain hp and torque while increasing mileage and reducing emissions. They featured it on Horsepower TV where they made several dyno runs and showed that it increased HP and also upped the octane rating of the fuel. The idea was that you could use cheaper lower octane gas and still run a 93ish tune safely. If this is true and not another turbonator then I'll be buying one tomorrow. Opinions?

personally I think its a load of bs. first off if it actually worked, CA would be all over manufacturers to add it to vehicles(49 state and 50 state vehicles anyone?)
I can not personally vouch for the following but it was posted in another forums about this same product.
remember when things get advertised, they are paid to hype up the product whether they believe it or not

See the Sep 07 issue of 5.0 magazine for a tech article on this junk. Notice that Fitch starts getting advertised in the back of 5.0 magazine the same month.
No increase in HP or Torque and 0.25 MPG increase. This is a far cry from what the box claims. This is tornado level junk to be sure

Look at it this way: every year car makers struggle to meet the CAFE requirement. If they could gain even .25 mpg from this thing, it would already be standard equipment.
Snake oil is STILL snake oil, even after all this time.

No, the secret is to use them together: the synergistic effect will add 50 HP and the fuel mileage will rise to 40 mpg. All that while using E85. Or diesel. The Fitch doesn't care, any fuel will burn like racing nitromethane!

Howarmat was kind enough to show me this link on the other forum:

That would make three different sources, 5.0, Horsepower TV, and now this blog, that have seen MPG gains with this product. The coolest part I thought was that in the blog they used a 2007 Mustang and produced 3 MPG. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to sell or hype this product, I just want to make an informed decision before I shell out my hard earned cash.

I think you missed the point to my 5.0 mag comment, they said NO hp/tq gains and a measly 0.25 mpg gain, thats not woth 150 bucks.
not only that but gas mileage is so subjective to 100 diffrent factors, my gas mileage varies plus or minus 2 mpg from tank to tank.
not only that but I dont see how it could possibly raise octane, higher octane is achieved through additional additives, and any "contanimants" in fuel wont lower octane, just make gas burn like crap. its all BS, but anyone who feels like buying it and telling us what you think then please do
