First track day in the Mustang

So I went with a few customers Sunday to a drift day at my local road course/drag strip a little less than 2 hours away. Considering there were only 9 other cars out there, I figured now would be as good a time as any to finally get on the track and start learning it from the driver's perspective. I only did it because one of my customers is an experienced road racer on that track and knows it like the back of his hand. So I paid the $50 for an all day pass, grabbed my helmet and went!

It was fun as hell. I wanted to go slow just to learn the track, but my patience isn't that good. I never went off course, but surprisingly the Mustang wasn't that difficult to control. It feels very heavy, there's a crapload of body roll, but the Tokico's kept me firmly planted. My Proxes 4's didn't really scream too much, but the brakes sure did.

Anyway, I turned about 10 laps total and learned a lot of new things about the car. So since I want to try and make at least one timed session this season i've already compiled a list of stuff i'm going to need/want. Either way, I think i'm addicted!

I tried to get some video, but the GoPro I was going to borrow ran out of battery. Guess i'll just have to go out again!

One auto-x and one day at Watkins Glen and you can see what that did to my sig.... Did you go to TWS? Of course, if I was going dragging I'd need the PhD level courses in driver mod!

I've got two 2 day sessions at the Glen lined up for this year, and this time I'll have the GoPro and the Gtech RR.

This is ASR. Its a pretty fun course, and you just can't beat $50 for a whole day.
