First start of day is slugish

Ok I can't figure what it can be I start my stang in the morning and it's slow to start. The rest of the day it starts up like a champ. It's always in the morning or when I wait for 12 hours or more. Can some one shoot me in the right direction or help me to solve what it is? Thanks

The first thing that popped in my mind is the fuel filter.

Did it start having problems after that? Have you tried disconnecting the battery again to reset the ECU?

Yes I've disconnected the battery and it didn't start right after I changed the alternator so I don't think that has anything to do with it. It makes me believe it something with the fuel. Cause it only dies it at the beginning of the day.

If one of those temp sensors are bad it tells the computer the car is warm when it's actually cold so it runs rough. Because its summertime the engine isn't really cooling off. That's my best guess. You can wait till winter and if one is bad it will run rough with every start.

Unless its coming up on the computer you won't know. Did you hook the diagnostic up in the morning when it was cold? If its not to annoying wait til the weather cools off. If it runs rough until it warms up every time you start it that narrows it down. You've already done everything I would have started with.

It could be your O2 sensors also. Try to get a computer to tell you what it is.

Here is my update of what fixed it.... Sorry I'm late on it. For 3 days I would turn the ignition on 10 times ( not crank to start but just where you here the dings to buckle up and the lights and gauges turn on) only at the first start of the day. The 4th day came around and it started right up and ever since. I don't know why this worked, but maybe one of you guys can explain the WHY.

I noticed my first start up was very sluggish several days in a row where at the point of start up low RPM and a sputtering was the norm. The cure I seem to have found was letting the car "prime" a little longer. Just turn the key to the On position, let the dings expire, give it another second then crank. Haven't had a slow start up since.
