As promised, and requested, some pics. I apologize for the quality, it's not great and dark in some places (wheel and interior shot)

I'll try and get a better camera and take some more pics this week.

powdercoated 17" Upgrade wheel (kinda underexposed):

looking in: (again, under exposed):

whole car:

center console:

tilted out for antiglare:

(underexposed) display during sirius play:

(underexposed) tilted displaying nav:

(underexposed) tilted nav closeup:

hope this answers some questions!

The radio looks nice. I'm sure you are pleased with your wheels. Just not my cup of tea but that's what makes these cars great we all get to personalize them.

yes, the kenwood is a little pricey. Head runs about $1300 + $1100 for the Nav Computer. I paid ~3k for the parts and install (including sirius, sat ant, aux input and cable routed to center console for ipod)

as far as the wheels, this pic and the previous phonecam pic are *horrible* representations. They actually look really good in person. FWIW, nobody ever commented on the wheels when they were stock, besides asking how big they were. Since they got the powdercoat, I've had coworkers and strangers alike come up and comment on how good they look and how much more agressive it looks with black wheels. As Bill said, the individuality is what makes our cars great.

just a question: Does powdercoating your wheels black make them glossy or flat black? i was just curious, cuz its hard to tell from the picture. and how much did it cost?

cuz im plannin on black bullitts and it would be great if i could just get the standard wheels painted or powdercoated rather than pay for black bullitts

arin: it's kind of in between. There is a little more shine off of them then I was expecting. It cost me 125/wheel. Unsure how that compares to the cost of black bullits. It's a fairly labor intensive process, as each wheel has to have their finish sanded off and then the powder is sprayed on. After that, they're baked. The benefit is a slightly different look and more durability than paint. You could probably get them painted cheaper though.

On the Crutchfield site they say that an aftermarket head unit will disable the subs for the Shaker 500. Is that the case with this headunit. How good is the system at finding and directing you to locations? My Honda Navi rocks and is very seldom wrong.

As for the price check ebay people.

http://search.ebay.com/P-NAV7015_W0QQsokey...Q20P-NAV7015Q20

$1569.99 for both pieces together

All I can say is that I hope that head unit doesn't get stolen! I have had 2 stereos ripped off in cars already, and they were cheap ones!

bryman: Me too. Honestly, there are much nicer cars and much more expensive installs in LA, and that's what insurance is for.

Murray: The subs work fine, crutchfield is wrong. So far I don't feel comfortable commenting on the Nav system. My installer mistakingly permanently grounded the nav's parking brake sensor, so it shows position but isn't giving route guidance. It's done a darn good job of finding POIs based on current location (I used it in vegas to find a bank branch and nearest gas station). I'll post a full write up when I get that fixed next week, and get some better pictures.

That stereo looks real nice.
I personally think the wheels would have looked better without the powder coat on the outer edge, but non the less its still pretty creative.
