First long trip in my05
#1
This weekend I took my first long trip in the car, 650 miles total from Jackson to Mackinaw City to Traverse City and back to Jackson. I was amazed how comfortable the car was for being inside it for 8 hours. Everytime I stopped at a gas station or store, I at least got one or two "sweet car" "can I look at it?" that was kind of cool. Im glad I'm not a celeberity or anything, I don't think I would like that much attention all the time, but it was kind of cool seeing every car that I passed jaw drop
below are some pics I took, some at the bridge and some at a friends house who has a sweet 65' fastback. It was pretty cool seeing the two cars next to eachother.
For the 650 mile round trip I averaged 25 mile per gallon.
here are some more pics I have taken over the last few weeks.

Must have just missed ya!!!
We took our first trip also....from Grand Rapids to Traverse City! Spent Friday & Saturday in Traverse, then to Ludington, then home...too bad we didn't see each other. I haven't seen another '05 yet!

Sweet Car! Nice Pic's, that one of the bridge alone, looks like it could be a Postcard. It's hard to believe the V6 Looks this good. Ford Definitly got it right this time.
The only thing keeping this Pic' from being "Perfect" is that Dodge Truck behind your 05. But still a Sweet Comparison Shot. It seems like the V6's remind me more of the 64 1/2-68's, and the GT's Remind me more of the 69-70's.

Nice picture of Bridge, I used to see it every year now it's been over 5 years. Oh yeh car looks great without the side stripe. Love the 65 and 05 same color together, too kool.
I see you got the 05PONY plate. Did you try to leave a space between the 5 and P? Wifes plate is NEW68GT on the Bridge plate. Hope to receive it this week. How long did it take for yours, about 2 weeks?
Enjoy.

Whats the ride like in the V6? have seen a couple others threads about the GT being pretty firm over rough roads, to the point of kinda hard on the driver.
