Strange that it was in CA, instead of somewhere closer to Michigan.

Just a guess but it sounds like Topnotch. :worship:

Anyway... I hope they enjoy it. I'm not envious... But if patience is a virtue waiting for the Convertibles to come out should get me into heaven easily! Just kidding btw.

Great info Brad... btw... thanks for sponsoring this forum. I'm a newbie but I've been lurking since last year. You have no idea how much I appreciate the info and drive my wife crazy talking about the 2005 mustang.

I'm sorry Paris, the source has asked to not be quoted. But I assure you this car was sold and delivery was taken by the owner last night.
That's so funny -- it's just Mustang news, not the naming of an undercover FBI agent a la G. W. Bush, lol...

Its great and all that some big wig VIP skipped the whole wait in line deal and got his car. But I can't imagine anyone else in Cali is getting their car this week.

Most the ETA's I have seen are for the Begining of Next week, and the end of Next week, And of course these being ETA some amount of error can be expected.

I look forward to someone proving me wrong.

It's not Mr. Shelby, but I'm not going to be able to entertain any guesses. [/b][/quote]
Well, I can appreciate that.

Well, if they wish to be anonymous, respect their wishes. It's not going to seriously bother any of us not knowing at this moment who it is.

Ok, so its a VIP. Who cares. Jay Leno has had his car for weeks (brought it up on the tonight show when he drove it there for the first time). We're still waiting for the first normal delivery.

BTW word around here is that Greg Raymer (won the World Series of Poker 2004) has one and drove it to the Foxwoods casino the other night. Heard this from the dealer he plays poker with at the casino. I had played with both the dealer and Greg before Greg went to the WSOP, so I have no doubt as to the authenticity. The dealer was actually the one who brought it up, he doesn't even know that I like stangs.

The car Leno talked about on the Tonight Show a few weeks ago was a Ford GT, not a Mustang GT. The dealer is probably also talking about a Ford GT, not a Mustang.

FYI: Called Drew Ford Fri. 10/8 @ 1:00pm CST. Spoke with Kelly in new sales. She made it clear that the vehicle they recieved and sold last night was not a '05 Mustang after all. It was the new Escape Hybrid. She also said they expect their first batch of (3) Mustangs in sometime next week.

PS - I'm not calling Brad out or anything, he very well may be correct. This is just what the dealer has told me.

Kelly is wrong. Victor, the new car sales manager, confirmed that they did sell a 2005 Mustang last night. It did not sell to a celebrity, but to a regular guy. Victor didn't have any details on the car (color, model, etc.).

Right 'bout now, Brad, I bet you are wishing you had NOT shared this piece of news!

It may not seem fair, everyone, that SOMEBODY got theirs first (like Leno). Welcome to the privileged world of capitalism! Money do talk, doesn't it, KevinB?

I'll take your word on it, as I don't have the 'cahones' and call the sales manager and ask him about it, hehe.. I usally don't get favorable results when I interrupt their day for a question like that.

No, it was a Mustang. He talked about it during one of the interviews on a Monday show.

As far as Greg's car, the dealer never said anything about GT. He just said "new mustang". Nothing to be confused about there.
