Financing Rates
#1
My dealer called last week and said my car is being built on March 7th. I ordered the car on November 8th and have been waiting a while. Today, I got a call saying my car is at the dealer. I wasn't expecting the car to be in for another week or two. In fact I was going to look into financing options tomorrow afternoon. The dealer threw a wrench in my plans and now I am hurrying to get the best possible financing. The best interest rates I could find were 4.95 for 60 months on Capital One. What are you guys able to find? Is that pretty good or can I do better????
Thanks in advance.

Check your local credit union. Since they are not supposed to be for-profit organizations, usually they have the best rates. If you can't find one, check Penfed (Pentagon Fedral Credit Union.) Though membership is usually for military members, you can get a membership if you make something like a $20 donation to an organization. The info is on their site.
Or check the Credit Union Locator.
Good luck.

Well I have to check further into this, but I believe I am eligible for membership with Alliance CU thru my membership with Lifetime Fitness. I checked their website and found that they offer 3.5% up to 72 months.

8.25% :notnice:
Back in 04' I had no credit at all noone would co-sign for me so I bought a beater with Cash, figured I would never get help from anyone else so I started to figure out different ways to build credit. I got a Secured Credit card, cell phone and it worked.
I loved the in 05' Stangs talked to a Friend of Fam that works at a local Ford dealership he checked out my credit and I was able to buy my 05' for 8.25% for 60 months.
It's not the best rate it's not the worst either, I was just proud I did it myself

However after going to different banks and seeing that a lower rate would drop my payment by 5-15$ I decided to drop it and enjoy the ride!

8.45% for 36 months and $7500-$13,000 through Capital One. But, I should get that down by applying through AAA instead. Hopefully they will knock 1% off.
The percentage doesn't make much difference to me because it will be a small loan ($7500) and I will pay it off in 18 months.
I'm not bragging, but the only reason I'm financing at all is just for credit history. Right now, all I have had is a credit card for a little over 5 years. I was turned down by a couple places, but that was for a large amount, so I really need more history.

I'm at 7.75% through my current credit union. It should drop a point or point and a half since I need my dad on the loan for X-Plan purposes.
But hey being 24 with good credit, granted a decent amount, 7.75% isn't too shabby.
