4.25 is a pretty good rate. My credit union approved me for 4.9 @ 60 months. I plan on giving the dealership a shot at beating that rate when I take delivery later next month.

What is this "taking delivery" thing you speak of?

I think it means he wanted to clear up some work history on the applications they had you fill out when I ordered in January. Just wait, it will come when it does.

Why did they have me fill out applications when you ordered in January?

St Mary's Bank in Manchester NH

www.stmarysbank.com

http://www.stmarysbank.com/rates/consumer_loan.asp

The rate they offer is 4.5% but if you open a checking account with them and do automatic withdrawal from it they drop it a quarter point. For the $3 a month savings I'm not going to do it I don't think. Not worth the hassle to transfer the money to it every month.

My dealership offered 5.79%

My credit union was offering 3.9 but it jumped up to 4.25 while I waited forever for my car. Ford offered to match the 4.25 rate and I told them no way because it was because of their delays and overly optimistic ETA that I didn't have 3.9. So, they gave me my original rate, 3.9.

TY for the name of the lender Dust! Im in Maine so Im gonna make a call Monday. The dealer told me "low 5's" and left it at that and I wasnt worried I just wanted the darn thing on order! My bank just doesnt do well on rates for cars and personal things so they are around 6. Now how about insurance rates. Who is everyone getting the best price from??

I'm 24 and this was my first big purchase. I have a credit card but nothing else. The dealer said my score was 800 he said that was awesome, so I got 5.14 from them. My credit union only offered me 4.9 and I didn't feel like making two trips to get this finished for only a couple of dollars.
