I have a 05 GT 5 speed.. and have a couple of questions for you smart folks..

Is it normal for this tranny to whine in 2nd gear and some in 3rd?

My car was built 5/5/05..shouldnt i have the new gas tank? I have problems filling up sometimes..

Lastly.. where is the check plug on the rear differential..i cant find it..

Tranny - Yes...it whines. Its a very noisy tranny. You hear the clunks and whines..

GasTank - yes, you should have the newer one, that isn't to say that it will work perfect every time. Of all my cars, I've had the problem a bunch of times on each....however with the previous mustang tank that had the problems, I think it was happening with larger regularity.

 

Thanks boomer.. anyone know where the check plug on the rear diff is?

 

Mine was built 5/18. Had no issue with first fill up, the tank was nearly empty (like a gallon). Next time I was at a differnet station and tank was about a quarter full and clicked on and off about a hundred times and when I finnally filled it it shot gas out down and out the overflow. So I had it in for it 1000 mile oil change and showed the service guy a print out and he said I needed the new tank. I would have thought that I would have had the fix in too ( unless there is some scam that the service guys run on warranty repairs or he didn't really check and assumed that since I complained and gave him the TSB # that it must need to be replaced) They order the new part for my car for installation 7/5.

 

I mean, wasnt the TSB put out b4 our car where built..why in the world do we have the old tank on our cars..it really makes me angry..i dont want them ripping into my new ride.. put the gas crap is a PITA..
