Favorite thing about your mustang
#1
Okay, after owning my GT for almost three weeks and realizing that I've never been so taken and hooked by a car (I'm 42 and owned a number of muscle cars), I thought I would get a thread going on the favorite thing about our stangs!
I've got two:
1. The amazing body style that often makes me walk completely around the car when I park it at work. Do it almost every day even when I'm running late!!
2. The way my wife (who didn't want me to buy it in the first place) now calls me when she's driving it to say she's never driven a car that makes her feel so sexy..
Anyone else care to share?

I feel 22 again. I had Mustangs while in college, but had to sell the last one in 1984, a '66 Emberglo 'vert, 289, auto., pony interior. That car made me feel good about myself. Now I don't need a car to do that, but what a product when it does! It's been over 20 years since someone came across a parking lot just to look at my car, and over 20 years since I cared whether it was clean or not. It's just a car, right? Not the Mustang. It's an extention of my personality, and I feel great driving it. That's why I'm Backafter20. I hope I'll never be without a Mustang again.

Had one today, merging onto the freeway with a sales guy at work, I gun it to get around a truck then merge into the fast lane in one smooth action. He looks down at the shifter then looks at me and says "You jumped on it and got around that truck all while staying in 5th gear?!"

The look back...................
Since the day I got it, I will park at work, start heading towards the building..........
And look back to see it one more time just sitting there......

1) It's a Mustang(!)
2) The power and potential of the beast
3) So sexy, I too do the look back
4) The fact that everytime I see my dad he tells me how glad he is that I bought a Mustang GT and not something boring like an Accord Sometimes I swear he is reliving his youth through me, I'm just waiting for him to call and tell me that he bought one for himself!

1. Because I get to drive (and be seen in) the best looking car to come along in 35 years!!!
2. With a few grand in mods, it should be an 11-sec street car.
3. See #1 and #2.

Yup... the look-back... the sign of a great car... another version of the look-back is the garage-stare... thats where you go open up the garage and just stare... I do that too...
I love the way the front fender looks... so forward... so muscular...
I love how EASY it is to get a little more performance out of the car. I'm a automotive moron, but even *I* can get myself an extra 30 horses.
I love the way people will stop and point... stop and stare... just stop. I've seen a school kid drop his books... I've seen two teens drop the ball and point and talk... and the other day, an older gentleman told me how much he liked the new (old!) body style.

But for me......
1) It's mine all paid for
2) 2nd Gear the way she snatches her tires as I thrust her into Second gear is awesome!
3) and of coarse the way women seem to throw their underwear at me whenever I'm at a stoplight.

I have to agree on the look back, especially the Grage stare! I park her in a two car garage smack dab right in the middle backed in so when that door slowly unveils the mighty beast within I stand and get caught in the moment, as I stare looking as she beggs for me to unleash her onto the streets.

There is a time in life when things start to flow back to the parents from the children.. Maybe its that time in your house.
