Fang Serial Numbers??
Fang Serial Numbers??
Having recently purchased a Fang Performance modified GT, I tried to research the number of cars modded by Fang Performance before they closed. I am not having any luck. So if you have a Fang modded car, and it has a production plate/serial number plate by Fang in the engine compartment, please take a picture of it, and post up!Mine is number 024...
a shame they didn't make it- they had some of the best looking mods ever...
if interested, their shaker hood is still available thru Aeroform.com, the 'glass hoods are heavy, but they look about perfect to me
If I had room to store a extra, I'd stash another one away for our 09 someday...

(Seriously, I screwed up and now this post is here and I dont' want it. Where's the delete option!?)

Actually, neither aeroform.com (which doesn't seem to be anything automotive, specifically, related) nor afmustangs.com (which in a google search does seem to show they *had* the Mystery 7 and 8 hoods and front ends) seem to not have the hoods.
In afmustangs.com's case the pages are no longer there, removed.
So... guess not anymore..?

thanks again houtex- you were right, the AFmustang/fang hoods are extinct... but found the last two leftovers were still in their warehouse, bought them both, hopefully they are complete, and hopefully will be delivered intact tomorrow
sad, I thought they were great looking hoods, but guess maybe only to me... oh well, three cars, now three hoods...and no more available
with my luck the trucker will smash them or something...
heres a old pic the day I finally got around to painting/remounting the first one 10/10/2010- i had driven it around in primer for a long time
going to look at reinforcing the hood a bit, mine has developed a small stresscrack- slamming the hood with the shaker bolted to the hood itself must be a little too much(i bolted it to a blockoff plate, made my own seal/plate to keep it functional leaving room for a blower someday) its pretty heavy...think I'll mold the hole from the inside, and add a couple ribs inside to support the top panel better...yeah just what i need, another project...or maybe I'll just use the shaker engine cover on the 09 and forget about the less and less likely to happen blower...
funny thing, didnt have a way to haul it home- I should be shot, but, drove our 65 LTD to work, rolled down the 4 door pillarless hardtop windows, slid the hood right in thru the side , sat back on the package tray, blocked the front up to near the headliner from the seatback, and drove it home reasonably comfortably
had the weather been better, woulda just took the mustangs hood off and drove it over hoodless, but it was raining, didnt really want that much water on the engine...sure got some weird looks on the way home- the old gal gets looks anyways, but with a big striped hood filling the interior... the old gal 'owed me one' anyway- when I built the new frame for it in 2003, hauled the 17' frame home in my F150- yeah, hanging out 7' past the lowered tailgate...had flags/light on it. but still, hauled it home at 3am late sunday night...fixing that car about killed me...tons and tons of work... anyways...
