Factory HID lights

Hello all,

First time visiting the site, first time posting on the site.
I have question in regards to the factory HID setup from Ford. I'm interested in getting the HID setup, but do not know exactly what parts to get. Does anyone have the set up retro-fitted on to their cars? If so what parts are required to retro fit. I have a 2006 Mustang GT. Ford has been of no help to me.

Thanks,
Raminda

Thanks you,

They're asking for like $2000 plus for just parts is this correct? They told me I have to buy the ballast and the headlight housing separate.

Just get a HID kit for $ 200, it's pretty much the same as the factory HID, because the factory HID is not projectors. Even if you retrofit it in your car its still considered illegal because it didn't orginated from the car when bought it. I say get a HID Kit, its easy to install and basically same as factory.

I was going to buy just a HID Bixenon kit from phillips, but saw the Ford HID headlight housing it looked different, so I thought that little arm like thing was a projector, that's why I was so keen on buying the Ford kit. Thanks a lot buffguy for letting me know. U know? what is that arm like thing in headlight? What purpose does it serve?

It either holds the bulb or it holds the mechanism that blocks light when you are in low beam mode. (The high beams are engaged by a solenoid that removes a partial cover off of the bulb)

Here are two good source to buy the hid kit, both come with 1+ year warranty. First seller is located in US so it faster shipping, and the method of highbeam is better. User has 100% feed back with 14000+ rating. Can't go wrong with him, but it cost about $200. Also his customer support is excellent, they respond literally in the same min to help you. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HID-C...1128QQtcZphoto

Second seller is located in Hong Kong, but I have to admit his product quality is superior. Takes longer to ship and the customer support is not that good. The quality of the product is very good!. THis kit cost only $150. When you order, remember to mention you want an h13 bulb for the hit ( stock headlight bulb size). Takes about 1-2 hour to install and its all plug and play. I done a lot of research so I found the best place to put the ballast. If you need help just send me a pm and I can send you pics of where to place the ballast.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=190138956234

Dude, just go to www.stangmods.com. They're based in USA (right by me in Maryland) and offer great support. It costs about $200 for an HID retrofit kit there. They are very responsive via e-mail and can help you out if you have questions.

Raminda...be sure to take good look at them...I think the HID setup detracts from the retro-round headlight look...(huge metal tongue originates from the 6 o'clock area in the light)...ugh!

What sorts of problems have you guys ran into so far during and after install? I've heard of people needing new relay wires and stuff to stop headlight bulb flickering? and the cars computer being confused about the significant reduction in power usage due to the HID's less power usage, relay wires were needed for that problem too. Excuse my stupidity but what is a relay wire?

The 'bar' in front of the headlight holds the motor assembly that retracts a shield over the bulb for hi-beams. The shield/cover retracts into it-forward to the front of the car. Arrow points to the retracting shield. See the 'got some hids on the 05' mongo thread in exterior modifications forum. Everything you ever wanted to know is in there. My VVME kit has been flawless for 6 months driving with them on every minute I drive.
