factory alarm system question

my father in laws 08 GT with factory security system... he says without locking the door via fob( and setting the alarm) that the alarm light inside still flashes once every few seconds. Never looked that close at mine but wanted to know if this is normal?
Thanks!

I'd say that is normal. My 05 does the same thing.

Hey Frank, that light blinks for the passive system. Every Ford car that has a PATS key (computer chip key), has the blinking light. It shows everyone walking by, that there is an anti-theft system on the car. Totally normal bud. Glad you could make it to the cruise night Saturday.

Yep, the Mondial is one of the least loved (and attractive) Ferraris!

So I always wondered. If I press the lock on the fob to lock the doors, only once without the horn honk... does it still mean that the alarm is activated? I'm guessing that the horn honk is just to confirm you've locked the doors only..

that is correct. One press locks doors, activates alarm but does not beep the horn.
