Yeah, just got that issue. Interesting comparo. The same issue has a very complimentary introduction to the Mustang GT Convertible. In fact, MT has been very enthusiastic about the new Mustang. It's a wonder they chose that ghastly brick-on-wheels Chrysler 300 over the new 'Stang for COTY!

My pleasure Chris, I just got my hands on the latest issue this weekend and figured someone out there might want a preview. I posted that article on the Vert you're mentioning together with the Saleen article but it got buried already. I think it might have been posted earlier so I guess I deserve this:

I happen to like the 300 but COTY? That should have been the Mustang's Award hands down but I could be bias...

Thanks for posting. Interesting article and cool pics. The top picture (#5) of the jet and the Mustang would make cool wallpaper.

 

I think the mustang held its own very while... Look how close it was in points..

 

I have that magazine. Anyone find it interesting that the picture in there is not of an F-14? Looks like an F-18 Hornet to me.

 

I find it puzzling that MT would do a nonsense article like this. After all, THEY are scripture when it comes to automotive reports. (Brad needs a sarcasm code)

They could have done a more thorough write up on the new Vert and Saleen.

 

LMAO, Neither of those jets are F-14's. One is an F-18 and the other is an air force F-16. Cool none-the-less.

I agree...I would have much rather read a 6 page article on the vert than this one. Just out of curiosity, everyone on here seems to hate Car & Driver and MotorTrend (both of which I subscribe to in addition to Road & Track). I don't really have a strong opinion on them one way or the other. Just wondering why there is so much animosity toward them.

I DO NOT hate Car & Driver. I enjoy reading it. R & T is pretty good. A lot of MT articles reminds me of "Yellow Journalism". They are good at publishing "scoops" but they do not have ALL of their facts in order before publication. :nono: If you are going to claim yourself as an informative source for the public, have the proper info.
