Extreme Frustration!
[COLOR=blue] I wanted to start this topic to find out if it is just me or not.
I ordered my 2005 Mustang GT back on November 1, 2004. I ordered the Satin Silver, Auto, IUP, Interrior Accent Package, upgraded wheels, GT and was originally told 6-8 weeks.
I waited my time and no car. Then I found out about the factory running out of the IUP which aggravted me but I understand. Next I hear about the lawsuit and that production on the 05 GTs have been stopped. The dealer also told me that there was a robotic arm (or something??) at the plant that broke and stopped production as well. My car was then on back-order. :bang:
I finally heard production was back up and I was #4 on the list to be built from my dealership; it'd be another few weeks. I stopped in last week and they said the other 3 were built and had come in and I was next. My car should be picked up to be built at the end of last week (2/4/05).
Still hearing nothing I stopped back today (2/7/05) and I was told they've heard nothing new and it still hasn't been picked up to be built.
The new car manager at the dealer said that it was a regional thing. I live in Cincinnati, OH and there are very few if any GTs here in the city simply because they haven't gotten rid of their 04 inventory. Because of that they are only picking up one order A WEEK to build. I am entering in the 15th week since I ordered my car and there is no telling when it is coming in.
IS ANYONE ELSE OUT THERE HAVING THIS KIND OF PROBLEM WITH ORDERS?

well this is pretty much of a normal story, just different twists etc. However the dealer wanted to put a spin on it. I ordered mine nov 8th a week after you. told 6-8 weeks, still don't havce mine, but finally order i locked in for production this week the 7th. So if delivery goes good, I should have fairly soon. But I also spoke to another dealer here and they said there getting 10 gt's on the 17th. So if I don't want to wait I can pick one of there 10. I sort of want more now, I didn't order the color accent etc, and I really would like it. So may pick a new one instead of ordered one. Orig dealer said they had no problem giving me my deposit because of the time period it has taken. Hope this gives you some hope. Good luck to all still waiting.

And then there are the lucky few exceptions who get them in 6 weeks

I'm in the same boat.....I'm pretty pissed... I sold my truck back in Dec. because they said by Chrismas when I ordered, so I set up a deal to sell my truck and I wasn't gonna back out. Thankfully my brother-in-law just bought a new truck and had his KIA sitting in the driveway doing nothing. Gets good gas milage and I don't have a car payment-only good things. My dealer has no clue either...... SUX!!!!!
Me Too !!!
DORA'd 11/1/04 Priority 10 (later changed to 12).
I'm so darned tired of hearing "Clean and Unscheduled" that I am getting gun-shy about asking.
You can bet the farm that if I ever order another Ford, I will be VERY selective about the dealer and, more specifically, the allocations.
My wife keeps jumping in with "Get Over It - Go Buy a Vette; at least we will HAVE a fun car for spring".
She may be right.

I just emailed Fords Customer service and told them about my order. I must say the dealer has been great, they help me out when I ask for info. But now it's up to FORD to pull the order. I ordered from a fairly large dealership here in Norfolk, and I'm sure they don't have an allocation problem. They have 23 V-6 sitting on thier lot. I'm hoping to hear something back about thier ordering process. Maybe everyone who has been waiting this long should do it. Ford won't know there's a problem unless people bring it to thier attention. So start complaining!!! No one should have to wait for an order more than 2 months. Thier process needs to be fixed. Bottom line. I'll let ya know what I hear (If anything).
i was in the same pool as everyone, i ordered mine back in june for pre-order, then production started in august. I didn't receive my car till 2nd week of November, yea I was frustrated too, i was worried that I was never gonna get IUP or my color and all that stuff, but it'll come, you just have to wait.......not much more I can say

Hey Ranger,

Thanks Senior Stang:
Gather you get some of this "going thru your second chidhood" crap. Always tell them I never got done with my first.
Isn't Ford still pulling orders from all the way back in October because of the parts delay? Of course everyone should have expected a delay when ordering what could have been (and eventually did become) the most popular new car of the year.

I am not. In fact, I ordered way after you and mine will be here in the next day or two, thanks for asking!
Awesome job trying to turn your text blue then failing, there is really no reason to do that. I hate when people post in different colors to seem important, like I would miss your post if it was in regular text.
I ordered mine on 9/22 and it is being built this week. You are right, it has been taking very long but with it being winter here in Chicago I'm kinda glad I don't have it. I also figure this car is well worth the wait!!!!!
Altoid ~ What wrong with you? The guy is new. Remember what taht felt like? Being called "newbie". Learn some manners & be nice for once.
Matt ~ See my sig. Ordered 9/22 & the car was expected last week. Well, the week past & no car. So, yes most of us have either been where you are or are still there. BTW Welcome to the board. Please pay NO attention to Altoid. He's the board police on whatever subject ticks him off at that time, ie...spelling, grammar, etc. So just ignore him & use whatever color font you want.

Sorry for stating my opinion on a public forum, Mr. Internet tuffguy. See my sig, PM if you have a problem stop derailing.
Most of us are waiting for the new mustang to arrive. I did get a call from the dealer in Edmonton on Thursday, 03 February, 2005 saying he had something for me. Heart was racing....The something turned out to be free tickets for the Edmonton Auto Show. I placed by gave the dealership the deposit on 25 September, 2004 and the order went into Ford on 26 November, 2004 just before the price increase. For me the delay is the problem with the IUP and the pending lawsuit between F. Weyer and Ford. I have been asked if I want to change to a regular Mustang dash cluster and my response was no I will wait. So if you have ordered a new mustang with an IUP you might be waiting until April or May. Eventually those of us with the 2005 Mustangs will have a collector's item because of the IUP problem. So my response is hang in there you will get the mustang eventually. Its worth the wait.
