Exhaust tips price

What's a decent price for exhaust tips for my 06 GT? I was at a Ford dealer today and was told they're $116.52... EACH!!! I asked if that wasn't the price for the pair, and he said no. Can this be right?

I would run away from that dealer. This website has them for less than $98 for the PAIR.

KC here on this forum probably has a similar deal if you contact him he will email you the price sheet.

Call me an idiot, but I'm satisfied with the sound of my GT (for now, at least). I've got a 69 SportsRoof with Flowmasters that make plenty of noise, so maybe that gets it out of my system.

I've also heard a lot about the dreaded drone, rattles, etc., from those who've changed their exhaust that I've decided to leave well enough alone (for now, at least).

The Ford exhaust tips should retail for about $100 for the pair. You can probably get them cheaper. I had them on for a while before I got the FRPP 5230-GTA axlebacks. The Ford tips are good quality parts and look much better than the stock tips.

If you get them, one thing you might want to do is paint the nut that clamps the tip on flat black. And, also paint the backs of the stock mufflers flat black with high temp exhaust paint. That way, the hardware holding the tip on, and the backs of the mufflers just disappear from sight.
