Thanks for all the input guys. Here's what I've come to:
1) "Euro" is the word I was looking for. I like the euro, metallic, performancey whine.
2) I'll look into Bassani's and Spintech's. For some reason, all the mustang sound clip sites are out of cash/bandwidth and are temporarily down...
3) I didn't know CAI/tune actually changed the sound, so maybe I'll decide about any exhaust changes after that CAI/tune. ..Especially because I spend alot of time at WOT, (just because it's **** fun up there,) and I don't want to attract cops or for people to think I'm showing off all the time.

a more exotic sound
Hey Gentlemen,
I posted this up over at mustang forums.com but figured you might be interested in see this exhaust since the OP was looking for exactly what we were targeting.
Copied from MF:

We totally get what you are looking for Jas and we have been working on trying to get a solution that has a nice balance of muscle and "exotic-ness" for the mustang. We have found that the 3V motors have an ok sound, but a lot of exhausts can be "truck like." With that being said, we have been developing a more refined exhaust system for the 05+ platform. It is still in the works not complete yet, but here is a clip of what we have so far. This is a bone stock motor down to the intake. It just has our mid pipe and cat back, thats it. No cats. It certainly does not sound like a ferrari, but we all know that these cars never will. I will tell you this, our MPGs have dropped considerably after we got it on. The sound in the cabin is so intoxicating that I always rev it out to about 4k thru every gear. Right about there, we hit our resonate frequency and the sound pulses just come together like a symphony. We just want to be..."different..."
Please all give us your honest feedback on the exhaust sound and we will take everything you guys say into consideration, positive and negative. Sound is always a personal preference so there will never be a clear answer as to whats sounds best, but we really appreciate your input.

I actually think it's pretty cool that you guys are trying to go for a more "exotic" sound and I think the exhaust setup in that video sounds good. Having said that, I would certainly never confuse it with a European V8 like a Jaguar F-Type or a Maserati. It still sounds like a Mustang.
