exhaust options for NA HP & exotic muscle sound
I have a stock 08 Mustang GT right now that will have a cai/tune and be NA for the next 3 years. So far, all the exhaust threads have been about approximating the original stang... Disclaimer: I do appreciate the sound of raw american muscle and hopefully most of you will not find my tastes offensive.. BUT...
I would like to get some more NA power but I would like to approach the semi-exotic performance sound. I'm thinking high tech, smooth, and metallic, if that makes any sense.
Sort of like a late model BMW M5... I think they sound awesome.
Also, I would like to avoid being too loud, but I can accept some loudness as the price for more power (as in, no high volume, mediocre power mods). I find myself driving at WOT often, so I don't want to attract too much attention.
Any suggestions?

I can appreciated your taste in "tone". I personally love the sound of an F1 racecar. But I don't think these cars will produce a "euro" sound. If there's an exhaust option out there that's available, I'd be interested too.
You can't beat the sound of longtube headers and Borla Stingers! Just have to decide between an X-pipe and an H-Pipe. I love the new sound of my car, and it turns heads when I drive by.
Spintech Exhaust systems sound similar to what you are asking for. As they actually are Race car exhaust. Loud, and very smooth at high RPM's.

I heard a an 4.0 Explorer with a fart can sounding like an F1 racer
Maybe it was because of the gears on 4x4
Edit: you guys can go buy an M3 or M5 used for the price of a stang!
I do like the cars ............. but for the most bang for the buck! Stangs win!
BMW= Bring MY Wallet for repairs!
A CAI and tune really gives the car a very euro sound at times under WOT when running through the gears.
An x-pipe might help smooth it a bit. But you can only do so much to make that hard metallic whine.

Don't forget that M5 was a V10. You're not going to be able to quite get that tone. But the CAI does help a lot to make the car sound more like what you're looking for
Not true. I've seen a couple of dyno tests showing about 10 RWHP with a X-pipe and factory cats. One was FRPP X-pipe + GTA, the other just the X-pipe.

Bassani's would probably be what you're looking for. I too like the Ferrari type sound...but I love all american muscle, rumble in your stomach sound. So for me it will be a custom y split, with SLP's out the back, and side pipes that I can activate from inside, and have a super loud car.

I have to get some wet wipes ready every time I hear that video startup.
