You will get no hp gain from axle back mufflers, no matter who you go with. Again, no gain with an X-Pipe with the factory cats still on. Using an Off Road X and a set of Long Tube headers is really the only exhaust mods you can do that will gain anything. You will see about 5-10hp from an Off Road X with no Cats. Anywhere from 10-15HP with Long Tubes.

Have our own brand on our '05 Mustang GT - Sound real nice - deep throaty sound but not overly loud. Might be worth a quick look. You can hear an MP3 sound clip of the exhaust on the web page. See what ya think:

I heard a guy the other day with Bassani's, but didn't have time to ask him about the details of his set up. In addition to the OP's question, what Bassani set up would you recommend?

I would start out with just the axle back system. If you need more volume or want to add on, you can always upgrade to the X pipe system. It has several variations and can be had with the hi flow cats, or off road setup. I personally would recommend keeping the cats if you are more interested in sound than 8 extra hp. Going cat-less would be VERY loud and can get a tinny sound to it.
