I've been checking the ERL for a couple weeks now, and "she" still says, "As of July 1st, your car is scheduled to be built the week of August 8th."

So okay, I know Job 1 hasn't started yet, but my dealership was able to give me my VIN yesterday. Shouldn't the ERL have told me the VIN was created? What other kind of information can I expect to get from the ERL during the construction process?

Just looking for clues from all of you '05 gurus that checked the ERL continually until your 'stang was delivered!

If ERL told you a couple weeks ago that you were sechduled for 8/8 then you already had a VIN at that point. A VIN is generated as soon as an order is "pulled" by Ford for scheduling. Since no status has changed, nothing on the updat system is going to change until Job#1.

Once you have a VIN - screw that evil lady that can never understand what you are saying. I said "eight" you dumb lady not "a".
Post your VIN over at BON for Kzinti to update you. Some 06'ers have already posted for him. But I'm not going to bother him until right before the week of my build. Check it out here: http://www.blueovalforums.com/index.php?showtopic=19342

I also would like to know how often the ERL is updated. Is it every week?

ERL is updated daily. She will tell you about a week before build "as of ?date? your car has been locked in for production week of ?date?." The as of date will actually be a date during the build week and is the day it will come off the line.

Also, befroe you were scheduled the ERL said "as of ?date? you have been serialized" this means you have a VIN

They're definitely updating SOMETHING - my build week has been changed twice. Originally it was week of 8/22, then 8/8 - now it's week of 8/15.

Wondering how everyone around here has a build week of August 8, and mine is August 1st. I know Job 1 is not until the 8th, and this is still confusing me, anything to do with prepro.? The last six of my vin are: 100383

Hey Red - have you checked ERL in awhile? My vin ends in 100607 and I was also 8/1 - but it changed to 8/8 sometime last week. I will check again tonight.

The same thing happened to me. 100477, and at first she said the week of 8/1. Now it's 8/8.

Thanks to everyone for the clarification on how often the ERL gets updated. You know, you'd think the dealerships would more freely give us the number for the ERL lady. It's really cut down on my emails to him for updated status. I'll bet he was getting tired of hearing from me!

I know. I'm starting to order parts already.... Just got the Web-Electric sequentials, and the Nokya hyper white 9008 and Silverstar 9005's are standing by too.

Next, the CDC charcoal light bar... What fun!

I have experienced some exeptions to the ERL being updated daily. Last week I went 4 days without an update. I was beginning to think my car had been pulled last Thursday.

Alas, no

I thought I read someplace (can't find it now) that the ERL was updated for new batches of serialized cars sometime between Thurs. nights / Friday morning.

It is always a couple days behind when you are CU. Any updates other than as of two days ago your order is CU show up that day.

Ford pulls orders on Thursdays. Midnight central time ERL gets the updates.

I really should stop checking the ERL, lol--still C/U and I got my DORA in late May (I know production scheduling for the '06 has just started, so this is not a complaint in any way, shape, or form). I'm just hoping the car is produced, shipped, and ready for pick up when I redeploy in another month and a half to two months. Wouldn't that be a nice "welcome home"...

BTW, Ed (ISELLFORD) says that, once you're scheduled to be built, date changes are due to issues (parts availability, commodities) at the factory. The dealer is pretty much out of it once you are serialized. The priority number has done its' job once you have a VIN and are scheduled.

So my moving around must have something to do with building convertibles, IUP, ICAP, or something of that ilk. I ordered standard 17" bullitts and Shaker 500, so I don't think they would be an issue!
