Engine "stumbled" ?

I have been driving this car for almost a year with no problems. I routinely excelerate " briskly "

Today, I pulled over to put the top down, went to pull out, dumped the clutch, stomped the gas and ...... it "stumbled" ( for lack of a better word ). I have driven a stick for 24 years and never experienced anything like it. It happened a second time on this trip also.

Could bad gas cause it? any other possibilities?

Were you on a long drive prior?
Was it the bucking or hesitation?
'cause that's what it sounds like

If so check the TSB on it.... its a fuel pump issue after long cruises

I would definitely say a bucking, and it was about an 1 1/2 into the return trip 3 hrs out, 1 hour delay, 3 hrs back.

I never followed that thread .... time to research .... thanks.

Edit - read several of the other threads, once you know the keyword ( bucking or hesitation) there is tons of info. It sounds like this is the problem and now that I think I know what happened, I might be able to reproduce it. Thanks again - guess this is a good time to have the brake fluid mess fixed also.

No problem man..

I have the exact same issue...
Its after a 1:30 - 2:00 hour drive... upon either accelerating, downshifting etc....

Seems like the replacement fuel pump fixes the issue.

There is a TSB on this. The material on the pickup tube for the fuel pump collapses causing a momentary "stumble." Mine does it too occassionally, just haven't had time to take it in.
