Eleanors seen the snow. She didn't like it. On SPRING!! Vacation To CT back in March.
I parked her and for those occasions when I had to take her out Brian drove her.
No thank you- If I can manage to get stuck in loose dirt like yesterday, I would never make it living up north.

I can't afford two cars, so my Stang is my year-round daily driver. With Toyo G02-Plus the car is very stable and the traction control really is you friend (and I actually think this is more than a traction control but Ford won't say...). Without winter tires ? I don't think so !
I had a loaner from the dealer for the last two days, a 2002 F-150 on all-season tires and THAT was scary ! We receiced our first snowstorm yesterday, and the truck would fishtail at every opportunity. Thank God I practiced these power oversteer all summer long !

Yup, we also got hit for the first time yesterday. :notnice:
Got my skinny Toyos on some take-off bullitts, sand in the trunk and I'm ready to go.
I personally don't like traction control, on a previous car I had it kick-in once when I had to make a left turn through oncoming traffic. The inside tire spun on a bit of ice and my car chugged to an almost complete halt as I sat broadside across three lanes of oncoming rush hour commuters!
Fortunately I was able to hit the button and just squeeze through a few feet in front of a hard braking city bus! I think the driver was as scared as I was!
Winter or summer, first thing I do when I get in, is turn the bloody thing off.

Well, that depends on what you currently have really.
I have the Stock 18's. But decided to get some take-off 17" Bullits, and snow tires on 235/55R17.
It seems more tires available in that size, and slightly cheaper to offset the cost of buying new wheels. And if you dont have access to a Tire machine and balancer, you add the cost of changovers each season. With an extra set of wheels, its unbolt/bolt and go.I
And the 18's get to stay out of the salt too!

I put my Michelin X-Ice tires on today. It snowed again a few hours later. Man these tires are night and day compared to the Pirellis. The car drives like a dream in the snow now. The car drove a lot different on dry pavement. I'll put pics up tomorrow.

Straight line cruising driving is the same. When you stomp on the gas though from a stop, they feel a lot different. It feels like a cross between the stock tires and a drag radial with 18 PSI in them. If you corner or take off quick spinning tires, the back end feels a little loose and rubbery. Almost like if you had real low tire pressure in the stock tires. Again you only feel the difference in the tire when you drive real agressive on dry pavement.
Keep in mind they it isn't a performance tire, it's only Q rated (99 mph). If you want tires to feel more stock, you have to cough up more green for higher performance Blizzaks or Alpins which are V rated.
I'm happy with the tire though. I was driving around earlier, going up hills in slush and ice and I had no problems, never broke free from the road. I was driving on the same road and conditions with the stock tires, and I was sliding all over the place with them. If somebody plans on using stock tires in the snow, they're crazy. It would be really dangerous.

CA is definetly the area with the most habitable climate for stangs year round. Not much rain ever, nice and warm in the summer with almost no humidity. The Winter is only a little chilly. CA is great
