That looks awesome tungvert!! Do you have any side pics? Those are the springs I just got from the man in brown, along with a bunch of other stuff from BMR. I also just got Tokico's, now I just have to wait for the snow to melt and for it to warm up above 20, so I can get everything put on.

 

how far can I drop the front and still be able to aligne the front end with out having to buy other parts? How far can I drop it with out having to get a front end alignement at all? I was thinking I want to drop it between 3/4 and 1 inch in the front.

 

is the gap over the back tire smaller than the gap over the front tire?

 

your gonna need an alignment no matter how much you drop. Otherwise your gonna eat up your tires.

I'm completely stock (for now) and I measured the front/rear from ground to fender = the rear is exactly 1" higher. What rear springs have a 1" drop? I'm not really interested in lowering the front at all, I just want to level the whole thing out.

 

Hey Plainfield! Most people will tell you to get a set of Roush rear spings to level out the ride height. That's what I did and I feel like I accomplished that but the back seems a hair lower than the front now. I'm either going to take them out and sell them (along with my 18" bullitts) or put some Roush fronts in.

Yeah, why sell the bullits? I think they look great with Windveil!

I can live with slightly lower in the rear. '67/'68 Shelby's always looked lower in the rear like they were alrading moving even when standing still!

Did you do anything special, alignment, etc?

 

I like the polished bullitts. However, I think gray painted wheels (like the stock 17" bullitts) look the best with the windveil blue color- I'm not so much into polished or chrome. That's just my opinion, which my change at any time.

As for the Roush rear springs and lowering the rear of the car- the general rule is that if you lower it more than 1" you will need an adjustable panhard bar to center the rear axle. If you stay at 1" or less, you can get away with not using it. The best way to make sure is measure before and after. I didn't need to use as my axle hardly moved- it wasn't centered from the factory!

Cool, that's good news on the Roush springs.

I hear you on the wheels. I was totally undecided on which wheel I liked best and in the end I took from dealer stock so I have 17" Bullitts and I like them. I wish the tires were wider though but there are not a lot of choices in a 27" tall 17" tire. I like the fan blades but I think those should have been fully polished. If and when I go to 18's I think I like the FR500 in anthracite, I think the anthracite is best because it's not too flashy (chrome) and the detail disappears too much in a black wheel IMO.
