Hi I'm having some vibrations when I let off the gas in my 5-speed GT. The vibe happens from about 2500-2000 RPM. I found this rip in the bushing on top of the pumpkin. Could this be the problem? I've never had a solid rear axel. I want to replace the bushing anyway so does anyone know what you call this thing? Thanks

Hi DPHC13,

I recommend you bring it in to your dealer and have it checked out. Speak to your service manager, as he is in the best position to look into this for you and can check into any warranty, assistance, recalls, or customer satisfaction programs that may apply to your vehicle.

Also, remember repairs done at a Ford Dealer come with a 24 months/unlimited miles warranty. You can schedule an appointment online here.

I ran into the issue of a bad front bushing on my drivers side lower control arm. I had it looked at a few times with no luck (the dealer I bought it at refused to look at it again while it was still under warranty.) Three dealers told me it was normal. I gave up and lowered the car anyway. I tried to fix it first because I know lowering it could make it worse. Eventually it started rubbing the chassis and squeaking, and i finally I found it on my own. After comparing it to the others on the car you could tell it slid out of the cup it was molded in on the arm. I replaced the UCA and LCAs with aftermarket, now it is silky smooth. Something for you to look at. It is only one possibility but look at all four of the LCA bushings closely. My though was the bad bushing compounded the driveline angle enough to create the vibration. My Mustang isn't the only one I drove that vibrated like that. Good luck.
