Man, that one is soooo cool and the best part is....while watching it, my 16 month old lil' guy got all excited and started making "brrroooooom" sounds and actually clapped when it was over !!

The only ad that affected me the way Anthem did is the Mercedes ad where it gets reborn after going through life that you experience in the car and through the windshield.

Just saw the anthem commercial for the 1st time. Man it was beautiful. I wonder if they have an Oh Canada Version. I don't think it would have the same effect.

This may be the best car spot I have ever seen.

I tell you what. I think Ford's marketing team is the best in the auto industry right now as it regards the Mustang.

 

I would have to 100% agree with you on Ford's Marketing. It has been great! People at work even like all of the commercials and ads that they have seen.

 

Actually, every Mustang sound in that spot was recorded from a 2005 Mustang GT stick shift. We had a music company break the anthem down note by note to determine what we'd need. They then miked the entire car (18 microphones - inside, outside, under the hood, taped to the exhaust pipe, on the roof, on the firewall, in the wheel well, etc.) and had a professional driver (Bobby Unser Jr.) run through the paces. They did a lot of actual street driving and we also put it up on stands so we could hit every gear and get specific notes and tones.

The company then went back to their studio for about a month and dissected every note to get the exact tone they wanted. They then laid it all together and blended it into one seemless track. There are a couple of place where a background track was used to carry the tune, but every note of that song has an associated Mustang sound that was recorded from an actual production Stang.

We were very concerned about authenticity, not only because the car deserves nothing less, but because we knew every Mustang fan in the world would have their eyes (and ears) on this and we wanted to get it right.
