Double wire turn signal/park light (front)

Hey all!

Taking the '06 GT Mustang back to Sweden, within a couple of months.
In Sweden I am forced to have white lights for parking in the front. I have the clear turnsignal glass all done, but the problem is the lights themselves.

Turning on the parking lights on the stock Mustang, turns on both the parking light bulb & the turn signal bulb at the same time. To get the car approved with white light only as parking in the front, I need to come up with away to eliminate the turning signal bulb coming on. Of course I still need it when applying the turn signal.

- is there double wire to this turn signal lamp, on the stock Mustang?
- if so, does anyone know which wire is which (parking/turn signal)?
- anyone have a wiring diagram?

Thanks for any help I can get!

Try this european/german forum

I think they will help you because many of them made the same mods to fulfil euro spec.

My parking lights and turn signals don't come on at the same time. What are you talking about? Have you done some mods to the wiring? Did you add the Webelectrics daytime running lamps which use the turn signals. ???

No mods at all. When setting the parking light on, both bulbs behind that amber glass comes on at a steady light (that is the turn signal bulb is not flashing, but its on at a steady light at the same time as the other bulb).

- is my Mustang incorrectly manufactured in regards to this? I thought it was a US-standard or something...

Yeah, there are two bulbs per corner. The big one is the parking lamp/turn signal, the small one is the side marker light. Both come on when you turn on your parking lights.

So just to understand...

You want to DISABLE the big bulb from doing anything other than blinking. You want it to blink orange.

You want the small (side) bulb to be white? and on when the headlights are on?

Eventually I need to do the same mod when I ship my car back to Finland. I have clear turn signal lenses too... solution is simple. Turn signal bulb is double filament like brake bulbs... just remove the contacts from the bulb for low-filament and leave only high filament for turn signal! Experiance which contacts to remove with 12 V... easy.
