Make sure that's really where the rattle is before you dig into it...my dash has rattles too, but they are very elusive.

To remove the center section, you HAVE to remove the entire airbag assembly. All you need to do is have the airbag unit pushed out enough, for you have access to the top screw that hold down the right side of the center vent. Then remove the trim ring over the steering column (a firm tug will do this), and take that screw out. Lastly, you have to slid the side panels that are along the center stack (radio). Pop them out enough to get to the screw behind each, and your set to go. To get these vertical pieces out, you may need to loosen and move the whole center console a little. Its tedious, but its how it needs to be done. We removed the center panel for a customer, who sent his from his GT500 to Shelby for a signature.

well i have taken the whole dash apart before, except the airbag part. basically i want to know where the screws are for the center vents on the passanger side. so if i pull out the 2 kind of doors that cover the pass airbag, i can get to them and it wont blow up?

I would disarm the air bags just to be safe.

I... Would take it to Ford? See what they can come up with. I know the A-Piller does a annoying rattle sound. Have you tried that first? There some threads around which go into detail about it.

If you are still under warranty mileage it should be covered And you are sure its not the vent itself or the A-pillar?
