Double 12" Stripes
http://forums.bradbarnett.net/showthread.php?t=64542
I paid 2200 for custom painted stripes. It is a lot of work.
They have to remove the bumpers, wet sand everything spray the stripes, spray the clear, wet sand, buff and re-assemble.
The look of vinyl stripes will never compare to stripes painted by a good painter.
Paint materials alone were over 600 dollars - 40 hours of labor.
There is no edge to the stripes. When you run your hand across it is smooth transition. The gloss level is the same on the stripes as the base color too, you wont ever get that with vinyl.
12 inches is too wide by the way. 10"-10.75" looks best.

12" is too wide. Just go with the vinyl until the whole car is repainted. It's soo much cheaper. Besides that, finding a good painter is sometimes a difficult task.
I like the 11"-12" range stripes. 1.5" gap
10" just looks almost wide enough. Most ppl get 10" though...
Smaller stripes looked good on the original Shelby cars. The S197 can
sport alot wider stripes and look good.
You cant say this doesnt look good:
<--- 12" with 2" gap
Something I cant get used to are the LeMans stripes with the thin pinstripe bordering the main stripes... screams vintage GM Camaro!

Maybe you otta ask about how long the decal stripes last? Some have posted about stripes peeling off or spyder webbing(cracking) in a couple of years after install.Spend a few bucks more, the painted stripes last longer.
