First off, Doraville is one of the most efficient ticket writing departments i've ever seen. They write about a brazillion tickets a day, and they all stick. They have a very well funded PD with a specialty speed shop to enhance their rides. I've been jealous of them for some time now. But today tops it all. They have their 05 Black Mustang GT up and running now. I took a super crappy pic with my phone.

It has a clear low profile light bar you can barely make out. It also says DORAVILLE POLICE on the side, but you can't make it out at all.

I plan on stalking them next week during my lunch hour and getting good pictures. Along with the 05, they have the following vehicles for their cruisers:

2005 Dodge Magnum w/ Hemi
2003 Mustang GT
2003 Mercury Marauder
1996 Chevy Impala SS

All cars are black with deeply tinted black windows. I hope to track down the 05 and see what they've done under the hood. If you travel around Doraville, GA (NE of Atlanta) do not speed. They will get you.

 

I work off of Peachtree-Dunwoody and sometimes drive around the Doraville area. Hope to see that car....not behind me of course.

One of the first things they did is probably change the final drive ratio. The did this with all of the fox body 5.0s.

 

That's looking north on Buford highway at 285. The carloader is on the connector that runs infront of the GM plant. He did a U-turn and took an immediate right that goes back to their station. I wanted to follow, but didn't get a chance.

 

Figured I would be looking to move that way too...

 

I see state troopers around there all of the time. I wonder if they'll start putting these cars on highway patrol now. That would be pretty sweet.

 

I'm glad I don't frequent that part of town very often.

 

We've seen two black GTs on the prowl in Howard County, Maryland, too...
