Talking DONE Deal!

Got the call today, the car is in.

I was useless from about 1:00 p.m. until about 4:20 or so when I was able to finally take off...

Took her for a drive, in a word, awesome, and I didn't really even get on it at all.

signed the paperwork, now the dealer is installing mt FRPP FR3 (Handling Pak) and GT/CS front and rear fascias...talked my salesman into having them instal my clear turns while they are replacing the bumpers also.

Hopefully just a few more days, just a few more days...

And I hate to say it, but I do not own a digital camera, so this thread is worthless!!!!!!!!

What is the real deal on break-in time, do these cars need a break-in???

Congratulations man, I remember when mine showed up at the dealer!

You will love the handling pack

As far as break-in is concerned...I drove mine uh, "spirited" from Day 1...lit up the tires on the 1-2 shift during the "orientation" drive before I signed the papers, too
She runs fine, but I've only got 14K on her so far...

Congrats - I am interested to see what a Tungsten Grey GT with GT/CS fascias looks like, as I almost made the same changes to mine.

Congratulations! I've now had 2 S197's, and both got "broken in" with gusto. The first time I had less than 200 miles on it when I started a 2000 mile trip, and spent the morning racing up and down every exit, just for fun.

Thanks guys. I am ridiculously excited, but am trying to stay strong!

Ok, so my dealer calls today while they are workign on the FRPP FR3 install and tells me they can't get the STB to fit along with the plenum cover...

So it looks like my plenum cover will be the first casualty...

For Sale, one plenum cover! J/K, I'm not sure what to do. Are there options other than putting washers under the brace? It seems that would mitigate against any gains realized by the brace, as it would seem to be not be as structurally stiff????

So am I!!!

I am having the lower portion of the front fascia painted body colored, similar to the manner done on the Shelby. I like the look better personally, I think!

Plenum cover?? Who cares, man!!! STB>>>>Plenum Cover!!!

I wouldn't try putting washers under the STB mounting points; I'd be worried that they'd get munched during any serious cornering you might do...not to mention that the STB has put divots in my hood mat at the NORMAL height.

Are they giving you your standard GT suspension. I took mine home after they installed FR3. You'r going to love to way it feels. Did they ask you what setting you want the suspension? Soft, medium or hard. Hard setting is not for everyday driving, only for track. I got Medium. My plenum didn't fit under the tower brace bar eather.
FYI. You can get a cheap digital camera under $100,00 USD.

Congrats, enjoy your new car.

I did ask for the original parts back. Not sure why, i doubt I'll be able to sell them, i Just don't want the dealer t be able to sell them, they made enough off of me. And I already paid for the original parts...

They never asked me about the setting, but I am pretty sure this is the first FR3 they are installing. I left a message on my poor salesman's cell. I actually feel bad for him, as I bought with X-plan so he is not making much on my sale (Although I'm sure the FR3 and the GT/CS bumpers he sold me didnt' hurt things) but is doing a lot of work!

I told him medium on the message, he'll probably call me tomorrow and tell me it is too late...
