Disc naming? Or is it just for the RDS? I also noticed an "aux" button. Hmm.

A lot of the newer radios give you the name of the song & artist ,maybe this button is to display that info.

I wonder if it's to display the title of MP3's? It decodes MP3's, right?

If the radio is satellite capable, I know the titles and artists are automatically displayed, so it could be for that...

I didn't notice the MUTE button till now -- that's a great little perk for drive-thrus and such when you need instant quiet w.out turning the radio off. Thumbs up!

According to the Owners Manual:

Text: In CD mode, this feature
reads and displays track song title,
artist name and album title.
It seems this is only available on the Shaker systems.

That's a good thing. I have grown lazy, so I like to see the title and artist displayed when songs are on. :worship:
Some radio stations are doing this(artist and title) now as well. I know of two in Birmingham that do.

well...if it's anything like my current stereo, the text button is for CD's that have the text enabled content. basically on certain cd's (one that pops in my head is the star wars episode 1 soundtrack) when you put the disk in and hit text it will tell you the artist name, the disc name, and the track name and #. not a lot of cd's have it that i've seen. and i suppose it's kinda useless since mp3s are becomming so prevelent.

this text button could be for both the id3 tag info on mp3's and cdtext info.

all the burning software i've used give you the option to include the text information on a cd that your burning. so just for kicks i can see the name of a track i've burned or what i've named the disk.
