Do you beat on your stang?

What is beating on your stang anyway? I'm sure that we all have different definitions. I have narrowed it down to one simple question...

How many times do you reach 5,000 rpms or higher in a week in your stang?

Just bought mine five days ago... I only found out an hour ago how big a smile I can get with a heavy foot in 2nd from 20mph and an open road ahead. I never thought I'd need to practice putting my right foot down faster.

Truth be told, 4k is plenty fast for this area, then again I haven't gotten out to the West Suburban Extension of the Chicago Motor Speedway yet(I-355).

LOL I'm the only person so far that's voted an honest 50+!

Adopt this attitude: don't drive it like you paid for it; drive it like you stole it!

beside the 5000 rpm, I also am driving in sand and salt that has coated the wheelwells and underside, got a chip in my windshield from a rock on the highway, let someone smoke and found it burnt on the carpet (no hole lucky it landed in the metal track) on the floor in the back seat, backed into a bush and scraped the paint off the GT/CS emblem, hit a curb under the front (can't see), had a set of keys in my hand and dented the aluminum part of the steering wheel, left my window open 3" in 0 degrees last night by accident, hit a snowbank with a chrome bullitt this morning, put 15,000 miles since August, also got 2 tickets this week, one as a designated driver for friends was stopped for 72 in a 50 and one for a rolling stop sign. NO DOOR DINGS

You can actually shift a Mustang below 5,000 rpm's? I thought that red mark on the tach showed where you were suppose to shift everytime.

I love my stang and all, but it can "beat" on itself.

Wow. I've had the car five days, 300 miles, and already someone park next to me at work (I parked in the back lot too) and put a 2" white door ding across an Alloy grey door.

How did you get so lucky?

Depends on the driving situation. If the road ahead is clear of traffic I will step on it.

I think I had mine for maybe 2 days when someone here on TMS kindly informed me that I could easily hit 60 mph in 2nd gear. I think the addiction set in real heavy after that....

Well this all depends now doesn't it? Do you consider one time to be one occasion...as in one 0-100 sprint? Or would that be 3 times, since it takes 1,2, and 3 gear to get to 100?

If it is by occasion, I say 5 a week. If counting each gear...20 times a week.
