I've looked in the owners manual, trunk, and rear deck... can't find out how to release the rear seats to fold down to access the trunk. I know I'm not the sharpest bulb in the crayon box, but this should be something simple that I'm missing... right?

BTW, either I'm forgetting how to read or this isn't the most informative owners manual.

Yes they do. There should be a tether on the upper part of the rear seats.

Got it, thanks. I didn't see it... my garage doesn't have the best lighting, and I've still got the plastic on my rear seats. (I know, I'm a loser.)
Thanks again.

I just ment that I'm a loser for still having the plastic on my rear seats. All my friends/family like to mention... "you still haven't taken the plastic off the back seat?" Heck, even the oil change guy said he's never done an oil change on a car with the seat covers still on. Then again, I doubt he's done an oil change on a car w/ 1400 miles on it that's only 2 days old!

:drive:

You mean to tell me you averaged 29.167 miles an hour for the entire first two days of ownership?? Wow......

How long do you plan to keep the plastic on the seats? Why haven't you taken it off yet?

I plan on keeping the plastic on for a little longer. Just want to keep it new for as long as possible and maybe preserve that new smell a little longer. I waited for 5 months to get the car, it'd be nice if I could keep that smell for 5 months too!

It will probably smell like new for a while then. That leather and new car smell is intoxicating. I like to get behind the wheel of 'Stangs in the showroom just to get a whiff of that aroma. Some guys have said what you're breathing is curing paint and adhesives and that it can be dangerous. I've heard it makes some people nauseous. Not me! Not yet, anyway... :spin:

I can't wait to get my own!

Don't be so hard on yourself, i just figured out that there was a rubber thing in the bottom of the cupholder you can take out to make it deeper and Ive had my car since January. I was going to complain that I thought my Propel bottle got in the way of the shifter, guess I don't have to now. It happens to the best of us.

What kind of rubber thing? Is it like the one's from previous years? I know my 01 had that rubber thing in the cupholder but I don't think this one does unless its well camoflaged. Of course, I may have overlooked it

John, just curious.....with all that highway driving, what did you do to vary rpm's for the break in period? Personally, I think I would have been hitting on and off ramps periodically. It'd be good for the engine, not to mention lots of fun!

I think you would be the sharpest bulb in the crayon box. Especially since I think you would be the ony bulb in a crayon box.
